Resetting pugs is something I generally try to stay away from. It's mostly subjective and someone is always unhappy. If bad teams keep happening because no one captains, perhaps someone will decide to captain.

I do it occasionally because I just got home from work at 1am and have some things to take care before shooting the guns.

Some people, like Shiva, do it 90% of the time they pug. Unacceptable.

If people would accept that the worst player in the pug cap, i would do it all the time since i think its fun. Though its 99% reset when i get random cap. Problem is to get 2 equal caps i guess.

And for those who got "stuff" to do so they put nocap in nick - Fix your stuff first, then sign up for pug... simple as that! Im with mrgrin on this.

Maber you need to use the .taunt function. The captain doesn't need to be the top player and uneven captains are fine as long as the captain without the advantage behaves reasonably and balances the teams.

A few players personally dislike captaining though.
I realise a lot of the time it'd make the most sense for me to be captain in certain PUGs, but I'd rather just join a PUG, be told what I'm needed to do and do it. With the exception of 2 seasons ago with SiN, I shy away from captaincy. Most of the time I think it'd be more suiting if "average/mid" players captained up anyway.

What is the big deal with being captain? Having to pick teams is easy as shit, picking a map is even easier.

Then why dont you become a democratic captain and let the other players recommend/vote on teams + map?
