so what vegas pro settings are good then? I record via FRAPS at 60 FPS and it looks pretty splendid on the uncompressed FRAPS file as well as the compressed file (from TMPGEnc) but after editing with vegas pro it looks like shit because i dont know what a good render setting is.

Step 1, you shouldn't be compressing it twice. Use the uncompressed version straight from FRAPS in Vegas.

it tends to run brutally slow with raw uncompressed files. Also, captured at 60fps will make it run even slower! Make sure to put also 60fps in the vegas project settings tho. Another thing -» youtube converts all videos to 30fps but i dont think its the cause of the quality in this particular video. Im pretty sure it has to do with resolution and/or final rendering settings @ vegas.

PS: decals suck alot

so would there be no point to recording with 60fps if it's just going to be converted to 30 by youtube?

MUCH better. The motion blur didn't come out as bad as I thought it would dropping the fps from 60->45->30. If there is anything I can say is that the in-game sound quality could be better.

For me, motion blur was always a problem in my Vegas videos until I tried disabling the "intelligent resampling".

Manually adding the reward sound messages could also be an improvement.

It's a process more than a template. It all starts at capturing and ends in compression. All has to be done right to end up with the highest possible quality/size ratio.

Basically used what Sonic posted there. Used Vegas Pro 10, recorded with FRAPS at 60 fps. Did everything at 1920*1080.
