In the ESL mainly two modules are used: ELO and ELO_Plain

Rule would be: there are 7 maps in map pool. Each player bans 2 maps and then pick his map.

After match, players input their frag scores (in case of elo ranking), not if they won map (in case of elo_plain ranking) so it is big difference between points you get when you win by 50 to 0 frags and 50 - 49 frags.

So question is that. Do we go for elo or elo_plain.


Some examples:

Example 1:
I win in match, first map 20-17 and second map 16-15.

elo: (36-32) I get only few points in ladder and opponent lose only few.
elo_plain: (2-0) I get lot of points and opponent lose a lot.

Both depends on which rank in ladder your opponent is.

Example 2:
I win in match, first map 20-1 and second map 16-5.

elo: (36-6) I get so many points almost as elo_plain in ladder and opponent lose same amount.
elo_plain: (2-0) I get lot of points and opponent lose a lot. (same as Example 1)

Both depends on which rank in ladder your opponent is.


Example 3:
I win in match, first map 20-21 and second match 19-15.

elo: (39-36) I get only few points in ladder and opponent lose only few.
elo_plain: (1-1) we must play 3rd map.



I wonder how do you guys want nw 1on1 ladder system to be?

I vote for elo.

I really wish we could implement an Elo system for 5v5 iCTF pugs

Seems elo_plain wins for now. I opened a poll in 1st post

ELO only works for 1v1 imo

variable points might be better for team ctf, but the only thing that matters in 1on1 is that you win
