There are open signups for zp iCTF league. (something like CB OC, 1 match per week, 1 team versus each other 2 times, 1 group if to little signups, 2 if bigger number, best 4 gets into double elimination playoffs for grand winner).

ESL (UT99) is already dead. Move along.

I like how Dus was the #1 seed last cup. And they made it to the semifinals by winning 1 match the entire season!

Coming up next: non-zp! I'm sure that will be a real success.

The problem was inactivity of signed teams.

euro centric? What do you mean? We allow players out of Europe to play.

I'm on the west coast of north america, playing on an new york server is about as far east as I can play. South americans would probably have a shitty time as well.

I'll see what can be done in that situation.

edit: it depends on how much teams/players would play in America

instead of trying to divide this small but active community, bring the good stuff that you have to offer (like the anti cheat) into it and try to help it grow.
CB cups were pretty much a failure in the last few seasons it ran and from what i heard so was the last ESL tournament (forfeits and even in the finals a team didn't have enough players).
on the other hand, GU tournaments proven to work great for most seasons it ran and just get better every season and that's why people join those leagues and keep on playing.

I don't like ESL's website, there's a lot and nothing. It's annoying to find anything
I don't know who you are. I've played a lot of UT, and I don't recognize your name. No credibility or rapport.
It's not clear when the matches would be played, and I don't recognize most of the the maps.
Trying to start a tournament without people to play in it is like putting the cart before the horse.
I come to GU for organized play because it's familiar and credible.

Don't get any hopes with that ESL Wire thing. The only useful thing for UT it does is to ensure no fakenicking, but it does not actually find any UT cheats. It's a generic tool for all games.

Early this year, a man started a topic to bring back UT99 section to ESL. Few months later, after a lot of support, test cups ran, which were pretty successful, section was reopened.

Now, again few months later, from my point of view, it seems it will be closed again. Really nobody even wants to push it, to suggest/comment anything. Hardly anyone shows interest.
I don't understand what do you mean by "when the matches would be played" when in last news there are start date of cup and deadlines by rounds. Even if it doesn't say clearly, why wouldn't you comment it and write that you don't understand timetable.
Maps? Well, ESL doesn't want to pick maps, ESL wants community to pick most popular maps. There were discussions on IRC about maps for cups. And also for this reason there is possibility to ban map you don't know/like.
ESL website is doing redesign at the moment, it will look more simple very soon.
You don't know me? Does it matter? I don't know 90% of you, so what?

If you guys think there are enough current UT99 cups, just let us know so we don't push ESL UT99. Feedback and suggestions are always welcome.

The organisation of your test cups was really bad. I played the 1v1iDM cup, and it was beyond frustrating. 0 Organisation. Also note that those Euro idiots on the quakenet side keep dividing the community by creating new pug channels, it's almost like they want the community to be dead. 'Hey, I don't like this admin, LET'S MAKE A NEW PUG CHANNEL!'

It's also summertime, so a lot of people are spending less time indoors
