Postby Carras » Mon May 05, 2014 1:37 pm

Would people be willing to participate in a pay tourny?

Lan or with an updated anticheat with no convicted cheaters eligible, yes. Otherwise hell no.

I wouldn't unless it was a LAN or updated anti-cheat.

I think big cash prizes would indeed be prone to people cheating to win it.

What if you would make it say $1 to $5 pp, it's low enough that people would be less inclined, yet only attract serious players to join the tournament/cup.

Combine this with ph34r's idea of mandatory upload of all demo's - but extend this to winners AND losers, and any suspicion of cheating can immediately be investigated and spanked/forfeited if need be.

Will never work. Every other day I hear that "x,y,z" is definitely cheating. It doesn't have to be true, but that's the current state of things. There is very little trust in the community and with good reason. Cheats are really good, the AC is really old, and an incredible amount of players currently playing have cheated at some point.

If its a clan tournament:

You won't have fun. Elite will group up in 4 teams that have a tittle chance. Out of those 4 only 2 are reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally good. Rest will get so destroyed you will cry to mommy.

80% of the people will stop having fun.

Might bring more cheating into the table.

Flaw in hulksmash plan is cheating isn't as obvious as people think. It is so hard to distinguish cheating with real skill that it surpasses your imagination. Make money tournaments in LAN's only.

If it is not a clan tournament:

Might bring more cheating into the table.

Boring as fuck since doesn't let people practice.

Only negative in my pov.

So my friends here you have my personal opinion. I will take your money regardless, LAN or no LAN

Would rather take your money face to face though 8-) jajajajajjajajajajaajjaajjajjaajjjajajjaajjajajajajaajajja
