5v5 iCTF quick tournament?

I think in February we should have a quick 5v5 tournament with 6/8 captains who can pick an entire roster, no price tags, just pick whoever you want.
Of course it's hard to see how many signups there would be, so may end up with more/less captains.
This tournament should last 1/2 days. A quick pool of teams, they will all play at approximately the same time and end up having semifinals and the final on the last day, obviously.
Let me know your thoughts.

But how are we gonna balance the teams? If you pick whoever you want and you pickz0r all the gooddie players. If you do it randomly we need to make teams equally and don't tack em m8, just sayin.

i think the hardest part of this is getting 8 legit captains.

I think it will be easier to get captains for a short 2 day tournament than a full season. Still 8 teams may be too ambitious, I don't think enough people are following this site yet.

well, angus put up the same signup list from last september.... it's not a good representation of the "league" or anything current. He's clearly doing it to try and promote that prou is active - when it's not. I'd bet that more than 75% of those signups, if asked now, wouldn't sign up.

Basically what happened is signups had been open for a month and we had 80ish signups for the next ZP league. Then ProU went down for a month. When it came back Anguis just re-opened the current league with the same signups. Right now MLIGZP has no admins so nothing will get done there unless someone steps up as an admin.

I can be a captain, but I would have to play again more often.. jail kinda took me away from 99. I came back, sucked but I also didnt have any of my old user settings so i Blame met on that one.. but yeah I wouldnt mind this

balancing teams isn't a problem at all. nobody can pick anguis first round and fuck teams up this time so we're good

maybe we can do "mini playoffs" style tournies with 30 people on sunday nights, starting at 8pm.
Only signup if you can stay for the whole thing. 3 rounds so ~3-4 hours

second round: sprinta, brokenlimits, orbital
