Lightboost On or Off?

Postby RickJames » Sat Nov 09, 2013 3:03 pm

Question for those of you with 144hz monitors: Do you use 120hz with lightboost on or 144hz with lightboost off?

I'm curious if lightboost is worth using :D

I think you will get a mixed response. i use 144hz no lightboost, for some reason i can get on with lightboost, eyes hurt from the strobing i think but others swear by it. so i say try it and see what you think..

Don't own one yet but from what I've read, I see that lightboost benefits more than 144hz in regards to inplut lag and motion blur in general. So I'd take the 120hz lightboost if anything. I wonder how Nvidia's G-SYNC will match up

i have an asus 144hz but i don't use lightboost, it changes mouse feel too much and i feel some kind of "input lag" when it's enabled. i'm not really convinced.

Tweaking ? Using lightboost isn't tweaking . Also it seems the mouse lag only happens in UT if you use opengl. The opengl driver has some mouse input lag anyway and my guess is you notice it more with lightboost.

Use D3D9 noobs.

@uenz Using Windows XP is not going to make your monitor have less motion blur. The hell are you smoking ? If you also use a proper mouse fix like MarkC and not install the vendor driver your mouse movement will be like XP.

Anyone using XP in this day and age is just being an idiot.

i actually find it the opposite: Mouse lag in D3D9 and no lag at all in OpenGL

Off. It makes my input feel weird, the picture isn't as good and it messes with my eyes.

When I get the g-sync kit I may give it another shit.

i'm on the asus vg248qe, has anyone tried out lightboost with games other than ut? i played Dishonored for a little last night with maxed out settings on 144hz, it's so smooth. ill see if i notice any frame drops with 120hz and lightboost enabled...
