Well, I'm sure it would have been shit compared to UT99 anyway. CliffyB is making some arena shooter though..

i have to make a little confession...UT was my passion because it was free (jajajaajajajajaajaj) and i just kept playing due to a close friend....eventually when that close friend stopped playing as much i became good enough for teams to want me so i just linger around to the point where i got really good and then its a pain in the ass to leave any game because you get some kind of recognition... :D

right now i thought i was done with gaming (meaning UT) because it is quite dead for the euro zone and manly reasons. Main reasons were because when i wanted to play something i couldn't 40% of the times. That sounds little but it becomes huge. Then the waiting got to me...and then finally the elitism.

Thanks to Mr. Banko i finally got to experience what the gaming scene is all about. I can get a competitive game around my skill in under 1 min and be playing in under 2 min...And i can keep doing that all day any time...and i always playing someone different. I mean......how can you really compete with that???

I have to say that cs:go took the little motivation i had for UT.

I feel like a scrub again and it feels refreshing!! Makes me want to be better and better, something i haven't felt in UT in a lot of years.

This only confirms that we are just denying the plug to this game and its getting to the ridiculous point where we can't achieve 200 player season. I can get 2000 players in 2 min CS:GO. This is where i believe we lost PACO The DickTaster.

I don't want to pull a Loque, but as far as competitive gaming goes, UT seems quite done for me....

:(

I might actually start buying games if they are like cs:go ahahah finally understood why people buy them

ps: really sad news

I must agree with you Morpheus, there was a time when it really was competitive, I guess it was when ladders and stuff were still active on ClanBase (I still wish I was around during the early time of UT '02/'03).

Don't get me wrong, I love what GU have done with the cups and seasons, but after looking at the signup list, its looking somewhat famished.

rain has spammed and other players have, but its not getting the support that we really need, need to get the Euro scene on Quakenet to move over, try and get every player in one place.

I guess next cup will be a CS:GO one? ;)

CS:GO is not even comparable to UT3. Matchmaking is on another level and the Valve support from LANs to promotion and listening to community feedback is on another level. Companies really need to start taking notes.

A New Hope...?

Postby thiagofb » Mon Mar 24, 2014 3:37 pm

Well, I refuse to believe UT is dead or dying out. There needs to be a new one for Unreal to rise like a Phoenix. We can't let all those years go to waste, and give up on our favorite game. I recently found out about a petition asking Epic to work on a new UT, and created a thread here to discuss this.

If you approve the idea, this is the thread: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1929 and the petition: http://chn.ge/1m1nNta

cs is a gg + valve did a great job developing and do an even better job maintaining it constant update and content ..big events streams gotv skins etc

For me some of the nostalgia for UT has worn off since ive been playing cs.. maybe i got bored of playing the same people repeatedly and dealing with a lot of retarded people just out to troll and annoy.. ill still be playing ut occasionally but pretty happy/having fun playing cs with people i want to play with,

i played cs several times on private network sessions (1.6) and i would not be brigthly enough to play it again on the internet cause of weird (?) crosshair aiming
i always have prefered and would prefer call of duty one / mohaa for its simple and straighforward crosshair aiming
