I've been trying to post there and shove some common sense into people but no they are filthy casuals that do not know what good competitive gameplay is.

You guys need to get to really see what they are doing. They are not trying to make it competitive, they are trying to make it more fun like how it should be for any video game. Instead of arguing just share a fare ground where it uses u99 and ut2k4 gameplay aspects.

...but competitive according to who? People like those involved in this community, many who've played the game for over a decade? Or people who think the headshot is random and should be removed from the game? Because right now, those people have the exact same voice and amount of influence as far as I can tell.

The real work begins when the alpha/beta testing starts

If you want to get involved and have propper input then we need to show why first

Hosting a server, playing pugs, testing weapons off against each other in different scenarios

Uploading videos and streaming and pointing out areas that are good/bad

Follow this up with reasoning and background and it'll go far

they will listen to the majority, skip the bullshit, talk to the pro's and do what they want.

Don't be fooled thinking your opinion actually matters that much lol unless you can get solid approval from thousand of players (things we dont have as a community) then just forget it lol

You can tell by the announcements they've made that they're trying to pull in those subscriptions and promote it as open source just to boost UE, there's probably a lot more focus on promoting the engine than just making a new UT

Which is what we've come to expect, tbh

The whole community is so divided that you'll see a few different UT versions, i suppose the only things to consider is how much effort will be needed to change the Epic starting point to something 'we' like

And that the Epic UT will be the one that gets used the most, unless something else gets made which is very popular

no one has any idea what's to come, it's been 3 days since development of the game was initialized lol
it's a very interesting project simply because of the approach, but even more so because we've played UT for 15 years. this should be fun no matter the outcome

A switch-option between double / wall jump and normal jump inside the game would probably satisfy almost everyone
