Wow, sn3p mentioning American Psycho jugged my memory.. Damn I completely forgot about the original Psycho. Saw that in my film studies course - teacher took it apart scene-by-scene; in some scenes, he went frame-by-frame to show us facial expressions, camera angles, everything down to the nitty gritty. One of Alfred Hitchcock's best work ever from directing perspective..

Bug also mentioned Heat. another VERY good movie that I forgot about. Al Pacino + Robert De Niro 2 of the top 10 greatest actors EVER. makes me v sad they didn't do more movies together

clankiller - I read that book for one of my classes years ago. Watership down.. never saw the movie tho. I found the book boring as hell to read and analyze, zzzz's. If you want a disturbing movie, watch clockwork orange, se7en, exorcist (i watched the exorcist with no sound back when I was in HS cuz I was scared shitless lol). imagine exorcist with sound -- goddamn.

If you like extremely disturbing movies, go watch stuff like Cannibal Holocaust, salo, human centipede, nekromantik, etc.. All of them are so disturbing that they're banned in many countries. I never had the balls to watch those and probably never will :D

Anyways, goal is to watch Pulp Fiction tonight. Maybe break it down a bit for this thread once I finish watching it. It is getting mentioned a lot here and other places I have looked over the years.

Keep those movies coming! :)

You mentioned Cannibal Holocaust blah.
I think the main reason that movie was banned in so many countries is the killing of actual animals.
I watched it once and they killed a real giant turtle for example. It was kind of disturbing itself anyway but I think that's why it happened eventually.

my movies:
Memento
Lucky Number Slevin (that movie never came to the theatres in Germany - dunno about other countries - cause they cound't find a publisher)

If "Team America: World Police" isn't on one of these top 50 lists soon, I'm going to put a jihad on this place.

Mia Sara. Yum yum.

Good movie. Matthew Broderick's career has been only downward slide after that.

If you like those sorts of movies, here's some I enjoyed over the years (my favorite is between Dead Poets Society and Back to the Future):

Napoleon Dynamite
Friday Night Lights
The Karate Kid
Back to the future
Rushmore
American Pie
Grease
Dead Poets Society
Mean Girls - yes chick flick but I saw this is in my HS math class. Lindsay Lohan, yummy yummy hottie back then. :D
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Animal House
Superbad
Good Will Hunting
The Social Network
Porkys
21
The great Debaters
Van wilder
The waterboy
There's something about Mary

Breakfast Club - only one from this list i've not seen yet but I know this movie is great

Just after I made my last post when I was thinking about Dead Poets Society, I found out Robin Williams had passed away. One of my favorite actors from one of my favorite movies. I am before you humbled & truly sad. Here's couple scenes that were magnificent and profoundly inspirational to me.

If you haven't seen the movie, check it out. The ending brought me to tears when I saw the movie for the first time (seen it 2 other times).

Rest in peace, my friend. You will be missed. :(

some classics, these may have been mentioned above, i literally glaze over the people that post 100 movies at a time:

I just tried watching heat, I got a little buzzed and only lasted 1/2 hour before I stopped the movie...gonna try and finish the rest right now and provide a review, so far, not looking so good for Heat.

[edit]: I also tried watching The Room(holy shit what a terrible movie nob...the acting in that movie is attrocious. I even checked IMDB ratings before I decided to try and watch the movie and it was a 3.5...but because it was a movie you recommended n0b, i gave it a chance and thought it was an underrated movie...lasted 1/2 hr and then nope'd outta that movie instafast.

Still havn't finished heat, may or may not finish it depending on how avail. i am
