I posted this message over at ProUnreal.com, but I wanted to share the good news with you all here at GlobalUnreal as well since many of you don't frequent ProU.
As some of you may have already heard, Epic Games is holding a community playtest at their studios in Raleigh, NC and have invited multiple members of the competitive community, mappers, and prototype developers to come playtest UT4 and provide them with feedback. I was fortunate enough to be invited along with hypno and xi0s (that I know of), and I believe TheWhiteDragon (from the BeyondUnreal podcasts) is also attending. I'm not sure if there are any other competitive players going, as Epic has chosen to allow each individual to decide whether or not to reveal their attendance. However, you can see the official announcement post where many of the attendees have posted already.
The event will take place the weekend of Sept. 5-7 and over the next month I'll be looking to get feedback and input from the community to bring with me. I think starting with a dedicated forum thread and then organizing some round table discussions with specific players and other attendees would be a good way to begin, but please feel free to give me suggestions.
With that said, I just want to thank everyone that supported/nominated me when Flak first came to the site, as I wouldn't be in this position without it. Hopefully we can make the most of this opportunity. Thanks!
