I run D3D10 on my laptop and don't have any issues.
Windows 7?
I tried to run OpenGL on my laptop, which is windows 7, and it would always crash after about 60 seconds or so in game. Only happened in UT. The screen would completely freeze and all keyboard mouse movements wouldn't respond. This is probably what you experience. It is something with OpenGL on Windows 7 probably.

FYI, I use OpenGL and Windows 7 with no issues.

I have no problems with open gl on windows 7, but i did when i used x console, it would crash if i typed anything in it.
