weird framedrops with good computer

I was having something similar and replaced my system folder with http://ut.fuzzeh.com/UTchicken-SystemOnly3b.rar.

Did you try regular exe without xp compat mode? Don't think there is any reason to use that mode as the purpose was to limit it to 1 core (I believe) and Ace does that anyway. If you use what Sonic linked it's already set with the regular EXE, I removed the dualcore since people don't seem to need it and it seems to cause issues for some.
