99 problems and my MAC is one!

Hello!

Since i install UT99 on my macbook via Wineskin

Wineskin: Wineskin is a tool used to make ports of Windows software to Mac OS X. The ports are in the form of normal Mac application bundle wrappers. It works like a wrapper around the Windows software, and you can share just the wrappers if you choose

I've experience a cool & soft game until i receive this kernel panic message.

I have no idea where this is coming from.
Sometimes, i can play 5-6-7 maps without any crash. Some other times, i disconnect 2-3 times in the same map. Only way to "fix" it is to restart the macbook.

Any suggestion?

My Macbook version: MAC OS X 10.5.8
Processor: 2.1 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

It's kinda annoying since i can't figure out when this will happen.. :|

I suggest dual booting via boot camp. Going to be the best way to experience UT...will be annoying to have to restart to play though. Not sure how well Parallels would run UT.

Dual booting is impossible. It says that the volume memory is damaged.. damn

I had a Real Bad Time trying to get UT running on my iMac under 10.7 a year ago (brightness, mouse lag, random crashes, broken in game UI). Eventually I went with Windows 7 + Boot Camp and everything has been flawless.

If you do get it running on your Mac you may might still run into a couple problems. If you can't adjust your brightness try manually calibrating your color profile via System Preferences > Displays > Color > Calibrate, and play with the settings so that the Gamma increases enough to balance UT's darkness.

You might also run into mouse lag. Developers at Apple have confirmed that there's a bug in the mouse driver in OS X that has been around since at least 10.4. It causes the mouse input to lag 30-40 ms all the time. Furthermore, the default acceleration curve is pretty ridiculous. There is an open source project called SmoothMouse () that has done a lot of work to remove that input lag as well as remove any mouse acceleration. It requires 10.7, though.
