If you can't pick a map in pugs, how can you prepare to play it in matches? No one practices with their team anymore. Very little pubs going on (and there are no pubs with maps like DS and Orb), so the only place you can actually practice a map and get used to it is in pugs. And from my experience, DS pugs rarely go into OT. And when they do, it is generally fun. I played a DS/HoG pug the other day and it was the most fun I have had in UT for quite some time. The people that dislike DS either have barely played it or have some preconceived notion that it is a bad map. They might use arguments like "oh, well i don't try in that map because it sucks." Maybe they should start trying in the map and give it a chance rather than being douchebag dumbasses. DiamondSword is a good, complex map. You can't spawn kill your way to a cap. There are no boost pads. It takes real smarts - flag running jukes - smart defense - intuition and prediction for defense - actual teamwork can benefit greatly, as in pre-positioned cover, boosting, jump boot control, timed pushups - all the features which a truly GOOD CTF map needs. DS isn't a one man operation. It is a team map, built for team play, which IS 5v5 iCTF.
